LOBA becomes first varnish manufacturer to receive DIBt approval
According to the German approval body DIBt (Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik) many requirements concerning “hygiene, health and the environment” are not covered by the European standard DIN EN 14342. Therefore, for health and fire protection, Germany shall begin requiring allgemeine bauaufsichtliche Zulassungen (“national technical approvals”) from the DIBt, in addition to CE marking, for construction products that fall under DIN EN 14342.
The approval requirement for surface treatment agents and adhesives goes into effect on 1 January 2011.
In addition, construction products used on site for gluing and coating parquet and wood flooring shall be subject to national technical approval.
LOBA was the first varnish manufacturer to be granted the “Ü” mark for its products: both the varnish LOBADUR® WS 2K Duo (gloss levels: semi-gloss, matt, extra matt, anti-slip R9 and R10) and the primer LOBADUR® WS EasyPrime in combination with LOBADUR® waterborne finishes. |

GEV Distinction for Very Low Emissions: LOBA confirms its pioneering role
LOBA – the specialist and technology leader for floor finishes – has become the first manufacturer of varnishes for wood flooring to be licensed to use the EMICODE label.
The legally registered and protected EMICODE mark certifies various building materials and products that release either zero or low volatile emissions into indoor air. The licence is awarded by the Association for the Control of Emissions in Products for Flooring Installation, Adhesives and Building Materials (GEV).
EMICODE EC 1 and EMICODE EC 1R stand for very low emissions. Products marked with this rating offer maximum protection from indoor air contaminants. LOBA was awarded this distinction for the varnishes LOBADUR® WS 2K Duo (gloss levels matt, semi-gloss and gloss, as well as the anti-slip formula), LOBADUR® WS EasyFinish (gloss levels semi-gloss, matt and gloss) and LOBADUR® WS SportFinish, as well as for the primers LOBADUR® WS EasyPrime and LOBADUR® WS SportPrime. This means that professional floor fitters have a total of eight low-emission varnishes to choose from.
LOBA is the only German company that concerns itself exclusively with the development and manufacture of floor finishing and floor-care systems for parquet, wood and cork floors. |
