On January 15, 2024, the Managing Directors of LOBA, Alfred Melka and Mario Probst, celebrated the symbolic start of construction together with the Mayor of Ditzingen, Ulrich Bahmer. “By breaking ground for another 3,500 m2, LOBA is setting a milestone in its more than 100-year company history,” says Ulrich Bahmer, delighted with the expansion of the company headquarters in Ditzingen.
INVESTING IN THE FUTURE
With a budget of approximately 8.5 million euros, the three-story Center of Research & Development being built to the west of the factory represents the largest single investment in company history. The reinforced concrete structure meets the requirements of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB e.V.) at the Gold level. “With our new Center of Research & Development, we want to give innovation even more space. In addition to product development, the building will house our application technology with indoor and outdoor test areas, as well as spacious storage rooms for raw materials and finished goods,” explains Alfred Melka.
KAPAZITÄTSSTEIGERUNG
LOBA already expanded its production facilities last year, thus greatly increasing both capacity and efficiency. The digitalization of production processes to optimize production planning, order processing, and quality assurance also progressed successfully. The new building is designed for carbon-neutral operation, and an extensive photovoltaic system is planned. “The start of construction sends a strong message to the entire LOBA team and to our customers worldwide. These new premises will offer us excellent conditions to make our product portfolio even more innovative and future-proof. And the additional logistics capacities will enable us to provide a high level of service for our constantly-growing international business,” summarizes Mario Probst.
