- Sand and prepare floors according to NWFA guidelines.

- ALWAYS PREPARE A SAMPLE OR TEST AREA TO DETERMINE COMPATIBILITY, APPEARANCE, AND DESIRED RESULTS.
- Shake material well before use.
- Do not thin. Do not add water.
- Do not apply at temperatures below 55°F (13°C). Make sure material is at room temperature. Always maintain adequate ventilation during all phases of the coating and drying process.
- Apply evenly at the recommended coverage rate. Avoid streaks, puddles, and lap marks.

Coverage
Approx. 275–325 sqft per unit.
Coverage depends on the absorbency of the wood.
Determine the exact coverage by creating a sample area.
Drying time
Wipe-application
- Apply PreTone liberally with a LOBA Wischwiesel, a trim pad and/or, lambswool applicator lengthwise along the grain. Ensure product is evenly applied before moving to the next section of flooring.*
- Drying overnight.
- Remove grain raise using a buffing machine and a LOBASAND SpecialPad green. Vacuum all sanding dust.
Spray-application
Spray application saves considerable time, especially on large areas, and offers an ergonomic way of working. Spray application should be done by 2 people because the material must be evened out immediately after spraying. Two or more sprayers should be used for areas larger than 1000 square feet. Garden sprayers operated at constant pressure in conjunction with a special flat pattern nozzle with a 90° spray angle, are ideal.
- Prior to the application, mask directly adjacent areas (e.g. doors, skirtings etc.) with masking tape.
- Guide the spray nozzle at a constant distance and angle to the surface and apply approximately 110 - 130 square feet per liter PreTone evenly in successive widt. Even out the coverage with a LOBA Wischwiesel immediately after a width has been applied. *
- Dry overnight.
- Break raised grains by using a buffing machine and a LOBASAND SpecialPad green and remove the sanding dust.
* Tip: When applying a second coat after two 2 minutes impact time, the colors are more intensive and homogeneous.
Impregnation
- Impregnate surface with the 2K ImpactOil Color of your choice. Refer to the Technical Data Sheet of the product.
- Impregnating with Transparent oils is discouraged as it can highlight imperfections in the Pre-Tone application. Refer to the Technical Data Sheet of the product.
